Much of the success we’ve enjoyed in sheepdog training is owed to Kay almost, but not quite, a retired sheepdog.
Kay, our semi-retired sheepdog, has taught us so much over the years. She always knows what needs to be done. Kay’s quite an elderly dog now, and partially deaf, but she’s still a very useful working dog.
Typical of a sheepdog, Kay may be slowing down but she isn’t ready to stop. We give her easy tasks to “keep her paw in”, and when it comes to training young dogs Kay is invaluable.
She came to us as a very scruffy one-year-old trainee, and quickly showed she had great potential. After being the star pupil in our sheepdog training DVD “First Steps in Border Collie Sheepdog Training”, she went on to become a mainstay of our working team. She’s also a great companion.
